Kefir is a traditional fermented milk drink believed to have originated in the northern Caucasus Mountains. The name Kefir is derived from the Turkish word keyif, referring to the “good feeling” associated with drinking it.
Our Spiced A2 Milk Kefir brings a savoury twist to traditional milk kefir by combining naturally fermented Organic A2 Milk with Himalayan Pink Salt, Jeera (Cumin) Powder and Pepper Powder. The result is a refreshing, lightly spiced fermented drink with a tangy, savoury flavour.
A2 Milk naturally contains A2 beta-casein rather than the A1 beta-casein found in conventional cow’s milk. During the kefir fermentation process, beneficial cultures break down much of the lactose in the milk into lactic acid, giving kefir its characteristic tangy taste and making it easier to digest for many people.
Kefir is naturally rich in beneficial live cultures and provides nutrients such as protein, calcium, phosphorus, Vitamin B12 and Riboflavin (B2).
The addition of jeera and pepper gives this kefir a familiar Indian savoury character, while Himalayan Pink Salt balances its natural tartness. Enjoy it chilled as a refreshing drink on its own or alongside a meal.
